Save our flowers è lo slogan dell'installazione che Massimo Barzagli ha ideato per l'esterno e l'interno della Stazione Leopolda: luce, colore, gesto, geometria, parola e numero, tradotti in una sorta di legenda che li rende visivamente intelligibili.
Luisa Cortesi, all'interno dell'installazione, presenta Il braccio nella manica, una performance che è un racconto figurativo del corpo.
Il braccio nella manica, la mano in tasca, la testa tra le spalle, le spalle alzate, il mento abbassato: i movimenti non trovano una successione razionale; il senso viene rintracciato nel gesto stesso, nella posizione strutturale del corpo, il quale si modella e prende coscienza delle proprie fattezze proprio nell'esperienza della costruzione del movimento. E' la storia di un'evoluzione o involuzione, dove il soggetto diviene il tempo drammatico del movimento reale, dell'esperienza e delle azioni, per portarci a percepire, in un tentativo continuo, la chiarezza delle nostre posizioni. La performance esplora la possibilità del passaggio da una posizione a un'altra. Questo risulta essere un percorso lento che conduce, in fine, alla consapevolezza della forma del corpo in ogni sua singola manifestazione. Dall'attività volontaria di ricerca della forza motrice, delle connessioni e delle leve che assecondano o contrastano la forza di gravità, si arriva al concetto di raffigurazione, inteso come elemento culminante di indagine del corpo: la posa nella stabilità. Si arriva, quindi, ad avere un racconto figurativo in cui dalla posa scaturisce una figura che non è mai definitiva, ma oscilla, vibra nella sua mutazione, per arrivare a conoscersi attualizzandosi; si presenta così allo sguardo esterno come "rappresentazione". Il corpo si ripropone, infatti, attraverso la sua struttura, la considerazione di ogni sua possibile variazione, la scelta e l'accettazione del suo determinarsi, come corpo culturale all'interno della storia e della quotidianità. Tutto questo viene proposto come un discorso in cui non ci sono punti, affermazioni, pause per riflettere, ma solamente un continuo movimento di linee senza rotture o sospensioni. Una mano sul petto. Save our Flowers is the title of the installation that Massimo Barzagli has created for the exterior and interior of the Florentine Stazione Leopolda: light, colour, movement, geometry, word and number, translated into a sort of key that makes them visually intelligible.
As part of the installation, Luisa Cortesi presents her performance Il braccio nella manica, a figurative tale of the body.
An arm in a sleeve, hand in a pocket, head sunk between the shoulders, shoulders raised, chin lowered. Not finding a sense in the rational succession of movement, and tracing in gesture the structural position of the body taking shape, she becomes aware of her own features, which form themselves during the experience. It is a story of evolution or involution with the dramatic tempo of real movement as its subject, the experiential tempo of our actions in the continual quest to understand the precision of our positions. An exploration of the possibilities of passing from one position to another, a slow transition, leading to an awareness of the shapes that the body adopts and demonstrates. An act of will searching for the motor forces, the connections and levers that reinforce or counteract the force of gravity, leading towards a stable pose, ending in representation. A figurative story in which the form that arises from the pose is never definitive, but rather, oscillating and vibrating in its mutations, recognizes itself coming into being and offers itself to the gaze as representation. A body that recreates itself iconographically as a cultural body within history and the everyday, through its structure, the consideration of every possible variation in its development, the choice and acceptance of its self-determination. A discourse in which there are no full stops, affirmations or pauses for reflection, but continuous moving lines without interruption or suspension. A hand on the breast. A flower seeking the light.
