The aim of this project is the realization of 36 documentaries and 12 making of starting from the work made in 12 workshops in twelve different cities of the world. The documentaries will subsequently become a full-lenght film. We want to approach these documentaries from the point of view of the cultural traditions of the participants in relation to their surroundings, their living space, their family, their friends, their traditions, their urban landscapes. Tanger, Mendoza, Florence, Hammamet, Shanghai, Alger, Bahia / Sao Paulo, Barcelona, Istanbul, Dakar, Manila, Ciudad Juarez / El Paso are the scenaries of an audiovisual intercultural dialogue with the final objective is to narrate visually, using the camera, the perspectives of the participants. The camera acts like a personal diary to understand and describe the depth and dimensions of the people's points of view. The people featured in the documentary give their opinions, speak their minds and make personal judgments about their cities, their relationships with their people, their families and their districts. The documentary will assist us to better understand the biodiversity of these cultures, their microcosm and their value as people. This medium helps us to better understand our relationship with our surroundings, and thanks to the careful detail captured by the camera, we also see the way in which the people feel and live their daily lives. The documentaries will collect various moments of the life that surrounds the participants of the laboratory, and they will be like an interior journey starting with their glance at the human and geographical territory. The workshops also aim at comprehending the documentary as a narration form not enforced to technical conditions, giving a better sense of freedom on the expression of the participants and promoting a greater interactivity with the territory.
Structure of the workshops: - each workshop will produce three documentaries and one making of and lasts 10/12 days - the first days will be intended to comprehend the various use of the camera, to choose the subjects and to organize the planning - three working groups will be formed for the realization of the documentaries and one for the making of - each group films during 2/3 days and subsequently the recorded material will be edited - every day the recorded material is analyzed and at the end of the shots a professional film editor coordinates the final editing - each documentary has a duration between 8 and 20 minutes - at the end of the workshop the documentaries are shown to the public

Obiettivo di questo progetto è la realizzazione di 36 documentari e 12 making of a partire dall'esperienza di 12 laboratori creativi sul documentario in dodici diverse città del mondo, che confluiranno successivamente in un lungometraggio. Paesi diversi e sguardi diversi sul territorio, con dodici gruppi formati da persone di età, sesso, professione e condizioni di vita differenti che attraverso il prisma di una videocamera ci mostreranno il loro personale ritratto del loro spazio di vita e delle loro relazioni con il territorio. Tangeri, Mendoza, Firenze, Hammamet, Shanghai, Algeri, Bahia / Sao Paulo, Barcellona, Istanbul, Dakar, Manila e Ciudad Juarez / El Paso sono gli scenari di un racconto per immagini, di un dialogo audiovisivo interculturale che ci farà conoscere l'habitat di queste città, i loro abitanti, i loro problemi e le loro realtà sociali. Uno sguardo sul territorio che vuole intenzionalmente essere diverso da quello dei documentari alla "National Geographic", che spesso occidentalizzano arbitrariamente l'esperienza visiva, mostrando, al contrario, lo sguardo degli abitanti sul "loro" territorio, senza "altri" intermediari. Ulteriore scopo del progetto è quello di rendere accessibili i mezzi tecnologici, promuovendo una democratizzazione delle fonti d'espressione. I laboratori sono destinati a gruppi di persone, a cui viene messo a disposizione tutto il materiale tecnico necessario per le riprese, che non hanno esperienza con il settore audiovisivo e il cui sguardo sarà di conseguenza più onesto e sincero. In ogni città il lavoro verrà condotto con gruppi diversi di persone pronte a mostrare la loro realtà dal punto di vista della loro personale percezione, testimoniando la loro realtà sociale e culturale. Obiettivo del progetto è quello di realizzare dei documentari dal punto di vista delle abitudini dei partecipanti in rapporto al loro territorio; filmare i loro spazi di vita, le loro famiglie, i loro amici, i loro usi e costumi, senza fini estetici, incoraggiando i partecipanti a realizzare una produzione con nuovi metodi di lavoro e con un migliore accesso alla cultura digitale.
Organizzazione dei laboratori: - ogni laboratorio, durante il quale verranno realizzati tre documentari e un making of, dura dai 10 ai 12 giorni - i primi giorni sono dedicati all'apprendimento delle conoscenze tecniche sull'uso della videocamera, alla scelta dei temi da sviluppare e all'organizzazione del piano delle riprese - vengono poi formate le tre equipe che realizzeranno i documentari e quella che si occuperà del making of - ogni equipe filma per 2/3 giorni, e alla fine delle riprese si procede all'editing di tutto il materiale filmato - ogni giorno il materiale filmato viene visualizzato e analizzato; in seguito un editore professionale coordina, in collaborazione con i gruppi, l'editing finale - la durata finale dei tre documentari sarà tra gli 8 e i 20 minuti ciascuno - al termine del workshop i documentari saranno poi presentati al pubblico
